2 Month Check-Up!

I can't believe how fast two months has FLOWN by ! It honestly seems like just yesterday we were heading to the hospital! Last week Chloe had her two month check up..Which meant she got shots..SO SAD! I almost teared up watching her scream. I know in the long run it was well worth it! The doctor said she was doing great, "healthy as a horse" as he put it. Here are a few pictures of her at the dear old age of 2 months! :0)

Phoenix!

This year my mom decided that she wanted to attempt to accomplish something that she has never in her life done.. Get all of her ChRiStMaS shopping DONE before Thanksgiving! Wheww, what a weekend! We spent hours shopping, by the end of the day we were tired and had some seriously sore feet. But.....MISSION COMPLETE! (well mostly) :D We had a wonderful time! It was so awesome to get to have girl time, and for my mom to get to do some serious bonding with Chloe! I don't have very many pictures of myself, or my mom but do I have some great pictures of Chloe.. This weekend I was able to snap the FIRST photo of her smiling!! I know, I know it seems like no big deal right?! Oh no. I was SOOO excited! So here ya go!

Bringing home baby!

Chloe and I ( and Dad of course) came home two LOONNNGGG days after she was born. Usually, the hospital sends you home the day after delivery, but Chloe was having some issues latching on to feed so the nurses wanted to make sure she had it down before we left. Bringing her home was SO wonderful, little did we know we would have to bring her back! At Chloe's two day old check up, our Pediatrician said that she was looking a little yellow and that we should have her blood drawn to check her bilirubin levels. Bilirubin is the stuff that if not flushed out of newborn babies systems (by poo-poo or pee) makes them yellow. AKA Jaundice. The doc called that evening and her levels were EXTREMELY elevated. He told us that we needed to go back to the hospital and admit her in the P.I.C.U., where she would sleep for 24 hours under the bright lights.
Our little lemon.. (Notice her eyes)

So... after our somewhat scary stay in the hospital, we got to bring our little one home for good!

The doctor suggested we take her in the sun to get rid of the remaining Biliruben
She's workin on her tan!

Here are some pictures of
Chloe since she's been home. ENJOY!

Three days after my last post, which seems like an eternity ago, our little girl was born! I apologize that it has taken nearly TWO months for me to blog about her, or anything else going on around here, so for those of you who have been waiting, HERE WE GO!
On Friday September 18th, I woke up around 7:00 a.m. with some mild cramping in my lower back. It wasn't even what I would call uncomfortable, just noticeable. I figured that being 38 weeks pregnant, I would be having all sorts of aches and pains so I brushed it off & fell back asleep. Around 8:00 a.m. I woke up with that same back pain, and for one small moment I considered it may be labor pains. That thought was in and out of my head quickly, I think I may have been in a little bit of denial. I decided that the back pain must be happening because I was hungry.. Hungry you say?!?. I believe this really translates to DENIAL. I tried to eat something, but shortly after became nauseous. I decided I would get in the shower and try to continue on with my morning. By the time I had gotten out of the shower I knew this was neither a back ache or hunger, it was LABOR. I woke Nick up, and finished getting ready and we headed to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital a little after 9:00 a.m. I checked into triage and I was almost 3 cm dilated, 100% effaced. Yipee! (or so I thought.) The nurse suggested that Nick and I walk the halls of the Labor and Delivery floor while I continued to labor. The walking did help with the pain, mostly a distraction from it all. After walking around for almost an hour. Now let me just say, I am a HUGE baby. I walked into the nurses lounge and demanded drugs. Anything. They suggested an IV drip with morphine, ok a little intense I thought, how about some Tylenol?! The nurse suggested the tub, which turned out to be great. Very relaxing. So now its about 12:30 and the doc came to check on me. 5 cm dilated! BRING ON THE EPIDURAL! The anesthegiologist who did my epidural was great. I felt no pain, not even a tinge of discomfort. **To anyone who may be having a difficult time deciding if the epidural is right for you... For me, having an epidural made both labor and delivery much more calm (obviously) and enjoyable for both Nick and myself. I was worried about Nick, never seeing me in any sort of pain, being able to withstand watching me be so uncomfortable. The epidural allowed us to talk about our almost born baby and enjoy each others company, and the company of others. It was wonderful. ** So now it is about 5:00 p.m., 10 cm dilated! The epidural had lasted to this point, but was starting to wear off, just a little. I was ready to meet this baby! At 6:13 p.m. she was here! Chloe Walton: 6 pounds, 13 oz!Cute as can be!

Nursery!

So.. Considering the last time I blogged I believe I was about SEVEN months pregnant and I'm now due in TWO weeks, I thought it would be good to do some catching up. My pregnancy has continued to roll along just great! I have been so lucky. Now that I am so close, I must admit that I am getting pretty uncomfortable.. Our little girl just doesn't have the room she needs to move around! I have been in total NESTING mode, which has been great because I have been very productive around our house! Here are pictures of our nursery!! ( along with a few of my big ol' belly :)

All smiles....Sort of ha ha

It's crazy to believe that Nick and I will be parents in such a short time. I CAN'T wait to see what she looks like, and get to enjoy the blessing of parenthood. We both are so excited (and nervous) to begin our family. I'm so thankful to have a supportive husband and soon to be DADDY! Love you babe!!

Catchin Up!

I haven't blogged in forever and although nothing too spectacular has happened, I just thought I would bullet some of the latest news/events going on around here!
  • My belly is just continuing to grow & grow! I am feeling great, and have NO complaints (thus far) about being pregnant! (I do know this will change, don't get me wrong) I am entering my third trimester and Nick and I are getting so excited for our little girl to be here!
  • I have been trying so hard to get some ideas together for a nursery. I love Winnie the Pooh and so far I am leaning on doing that theme for the nursery. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  • I have, slowly but surely, begun to start baking. Nothing big by any means. I made my first cheesecake just the other day, and it was a hit! I was so excited that something I made was edible!
  • Nick celebrated his first Father's Day just recently. It was so fun to get to make a fuss over him and his new Daddy-hood!
  • Nick, Jake ( Nicks brother), Bridget (Nicks sister), and I all went to a D-backs game! Tons of fun! SHOUT out to Jake for being the lucky winner of the tickets. (He won them in a raffle =)
  • Mom and I went on a SPECTACULAR trip to Phoenix. We absolutely spoiled ourselves at the resort/spa. We went shopping for all things baby and most importantly laughed harder then ever before! Thanks mom for such an amazing time! Love you!
